Accessibility

Historische Huizen Gent wants to tell stories to a wide and diverse audience, including people with disabilities and their carers. That is why we have purposefully chosen to focus on accessibility, by investing in dedicated services on the one hand and an adapted offering on the other.

Wheelchair users

St. Peter’s Abbey has a wheelchair accessible entrance in the front of the building and a lift. As a result, wheelchair users can freely visit all the abbey’s exhibition spaces and the highest section of St. Peter’s Church.

A wheelchair and adapted toilets are available onsite.

Assistance dogs

St. Peter’s Abbey welcomes assistance dogs.

European Disability Card

Historische Huizen Gent is a partner of the European Disability Card project.
This card entitles you to free admission for the person accompanying you.
