The Castle of the Counts is open every day from 10 am to 6 pm. Last admission at 4.40 pm.
Closed on 24th, 25th, 31st December and 1st January.

Audio guide is included in entrance ticket.

Online reservation

We advise you to book your tickets in advance for guaranteed entry. Tickets can also be bought at the ticket office, as long as tickets are available.
The amount and price of tickets are the same online as at the ticket office. Tickets purchased online are non-refundable.

Do you have an UiTPAS, ICOM card, BONGO, Riebedebie card of voucher? You can also book a ticket online. Please show your card at the entrance when your tickets are checked.

Online reservation is not mandatory when you have a Citycard. You may present your card at the e-ticket gate. 

CityCard Ghent

The all-in Citycard Ghent allows to enter almost all must see spots in Ghent. A maximum dose of must-see attractions for a small price. The Citycard Ghent also offers you free use of the public transport. More information on the Visit Gent website.

Discovery Ticket (NMBS)

Are you coming by train? With the Discovery Ticket you get access to the Castle and a 40% discount on your train journey.

General Guidelines

  • Pets are not allowed, with the exception of guide dogs.
  • Smoking is prohibited in all parts of the Castle of the Counts.
  • Eating or drinking inside is prohibited.
  • Luggage and backpacks cannot be stored at the Castle of the Counts; there are no lockers and there is no cloakroom.
    Luggage and backpacks can, however, be stored in the stables at your own risk and if the room is available.
  • Photography and filming for private purposes are permitted. For professional or commercial photo shoots, please contact historischehuizen@stad.gent. We would love to see your photos and videos appear on our social media, tag us @historischehuizengent.
