St Bavo’s Abbey

You are standing on historic soil. In the 7th century, Amandus of Ghent founded St Bavo’s Abbey in an attempt to convert the residents of Ganda (Latin for ‘Ghent’). The ruins now make up one of the most poetic sites in Ghent.
